Opening day success

Pete and a few of many u of m skiers that helped.
Our opening day started on schedule and as we had many items on the agenda, there were many projects. Big and small ! The floaters got an overhaul by ripping off old carpeting, and replacing them with wood treads.

Dockmaster Will, Tim and Dean hard at work while Sig, Steve and Nick are pondering in the background.
It was time for boardwalk replacement as the old one was in bad disrepair. A lot of the groundwork was accomplished so that we can finish the project as soon as the weather gets better, and manpower is available.

Nice pole Dave !
I was really happy to see the enthusiasm among our members, and I know this will be a season to remember. With new docks, boardwalks, jump refurbishing as well as general beautification of our Island, it will be a much more family friendly environment for everyone. Let's take back our island, and make it our gathering place this year, and years to come.

Sig, John,Will, Suzanne and Jake hung tough until sunset with rewards.
There were smiles all around after a good day of work. Thanks again for everybody's efforts ! And thank's to Justin, Trish and Suzanne for taking nice pictures !
Ski you soon !

One suggestion- in addition to the sign on the jump - what about some "bumper sticker" sized signs with the website address on them for the new docks??
(and what about member stickers for our boats?)
When is the next work party to finish what we started?
see you next weekend to finish off this beast!
