Saturday's alright

Sad showing for the waterski show on Saturday, but ambitious members made the most of it by laboring on the Island.
The club had a workparty that was supposed to end at noon, when our talented waterski show skiers was due to arrive. When we left the island at 530pm, the only dock start we saw was the waterski jump floating under own power, with attatched side curtains. Finally !

The side curtains were attatched using the new hinge system, and it worked out great. The foam pads were also installed after careful adjustment by Curly, Justin and Bill ! It seems to float perfectly, and edging was also installed, making the jump look as good as it have ever looked !
Frank and John cut down the dead tree by the boardwalk for safety reasons, and chopped it up for future fire wood. Bill was fortunate enough to be part of the fire wood retrieval unit.
This also made room for an extension of the boardwalk that will eventually be part of the pontoon dock.
Speaking of fire wood, Dave showed up with fire pit paraphanelia, and took charge of the fire pit remodeling project.
From now on he prefers to be adressed as firepit meister Dave !
We were all amazed at his final product, as you will be next time you stop by the island.
Tim and Chris did a great job redoing the stairs from the main dock and using pavers to retain the hill. Chris got lured in by Sig telling him that it was just a small project, and there would be plenty of skiing.
I bet he wont make that mistake again !
Nonetheless, my hats off to Frank, John, Justin, Bill, Chris, Tim, Nick, Dean, Dave and Sig for helping the ski club get ready for the summer season. It's due to member enthusiasm like this that makes our club a great thing to be part of.
I hope to see the smiling faces of the rest of our membership soon out on the island, or on the lake, enjoying the summer soon.
We have skishow practice on Wednesdays and Saturdays until our show on the 20th.
Now our island is ready for action, so dust off your skis and let's have some fun !!
