We're open for business

Addie says " It's cleeeeeean"!

Here  we are, after a long winter, once again with bouys in the water, The jump ready for launch ( we promise ), and the Canadian air force landing strip converted once again to ski boat docks !

Over the last two weekends various members have contributed to our opening day even though the weather have'nt been overly cooperative.

But somehow, as we always do,our ski club members take care of business !

On the 24th of April, Douggo, Justin, Bill, Andy and Frank went out to the island with an agenda !

CLEANUP TIME

They raked the Island, pruned/trimmed the bushes on the "lavatory" path and sorted through all our knick-knack and old wood etc and hauled a trailer full of trash to the landfill.

The Island looks GREAT ! We have trash containers put out now, which we strongly encourage everyone to use, as well as a recycling "bin" for recycleble items. The firepit was also cleaned up and the "spare" grills etc, gone !!

Last weekend, the 1st of May, Justin and Douggo, once again spearheaded our efforts by initiating phase two of our opening "day" ! They we're assisted by Addison, John Cerrone and Sig this time, and pretty much finished up by preparing anchors for the NEW area markers, as well as for the rejuvenated old area markers etc.

"Anchors aweigh!"

We now have five highly visible markers from the point by the public (Wally) launch, to the point at Lake Pointe pass. The new markers are "NO WAKE" bouys, so now we can only hope that some of our fellow boaters have learned to read this last winter !:-D

While Douggo, Addie and Siggo stayed busy on the water, dropping anchors and bouys, Justin and John Took care of powerwashing the docks.

Opening day workhorses with a smile !

It took almost 3 hours to clean the docks with the help of Dave's powerwasher, Frank's Generator and Steve's feederpump.Nice work from the very capable Justin and John ! Notice that the back of the jump have gotten new treads thanks to Curly and the U of M gang ! Nice !

John, Douggo and Addie says "Time to get seroious about Waterskiing again !"

Thank you to the Stimack's for opening their doors to their beautiful home, and hosting a very nice Waterski club fiesta Saturday night ! It was a nice gathering with amazing hors d'oeuvres and any beverage one would ever want to enjoy. Let this by a pace setter for our club this summer. Good times with good friends, on or off the water !

Thank you everyone for helping in each capacity in our effort to get our area ready once again ! The Island looks better that ever, and is ready for use ! I look forward to seeing you all very soon !

Let's make this summer "The best ever!!"

What I want to know is, where were all of the other two-year old ski club members? It's a shame Addie had to pull all of that weight by herself! ;-)
